Super storm
Sandy
caused havoc along the east coast, devastating many coastal communities. I
lived in a quirky NJ bayside town for five years before moving to
Maryland.
My heart goes out to my neighbors who lost so much in the storm.

Dawn Marie,
ReplyDeleteWhat great pictures!
I think it was Katrina that took our summer rental on the gulf. We watched on the news familiar signs sticking up in the water signaling the condo was underwater. I realized then, we'd probably never go back.
Never did. I guess I wanted it to remain the same as it was in my memories.
Beautiful pictures, Dawn!
ReplyDeleteI lived in Eatontown, NJ when I was stationed at Fort Monmouth and biked to the beach. They had a Tom and Jerries where we had ice cream. I visited the Boardwalk before the casinos were built, and was there when the first was under construction.
I feel for everyone who lived through that, and for those who still are suffering.
Hi, Morgan. Sometimes it's preferable to just keep the memories. Unfortunately, I saw pictures and videos of the devastation from Sandy. Tore my heart to shreds.
ReplyDeleteWe loved living in Monmouth county, Terry. So much to do. Unfortunately, I fear it'll be awhile before the beach towns get over this latest storm.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful. I love the ocean and the peace the waves bring. So sorry you only have the memories left. Hugs, Dawn Marie.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was growing up, my grandparents rented a house each summer in Bay Head or Mantoloking. I can't imagine how these town I loved look now.
ReplyDeleteNature is so powerful. We have to adapt.
Thanks, Paisley. The rhythm of the sea is soothing. Memories are good too. :)
ReplyDeleteHi, Ana. We vacationed in Point Pleasant where my sister lived for many years. Love the shore. It will be interesting to see how the recovery plays out.
ReplyDeleteYou posted some lovely pictures, Dawn. I'm not familiar with that area, but am originally from upstate NY.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, Josie!
