Share a chuckle with me and enjoy a Holiday Dave Barry classic as follows:
"Since I’ve lived in Miami, we’ve had one cold Christmas when the temperature briefly fell into the thirties. But snow did not fall from the sky. What fell from the sky were lizards. Really. I went outside on Christmas morning, and lying on my lawn, looking stunned, were at least a dozen bright-green lizards that had fallen out of the trees. These were not small lizards. These things were the size of cocker spaniels, and they had TEETH. That is not a normal Christmas-morning sight. There is no Christmas carol that goes: “Good King Wenceslas looked out/ On the feast of Stephen/ Saw big green lizards all about/ So he said, “I’m leavin’.”

He's always so funny and it's true about the lizards...they do fall out of the trees when it gets very cold... And it's cold today! I better keep my eyes on the trees! LOL

Joanne, how I empathize. I live in South Florida. It's so cold today, barely 40 degrees. And yes there is no snow but we can see many lizards out there.
That is so funny. I was in Florida in July, hotter then hell, and beyond. So I can't imagine snow at all, anywhere, ever. Poor green lizards.
At least you don't need a snowblower for green lizards. ;)

It's 30 degrees in South Carolina. We live near Charlotte. Really? You can see lizards? Are they in the trees?

Florida in the summer can be unbearable. It's the humidity. In South Carolina, we experience many hot summer days, also.

Joanne, I'd be very scared seeing lizards all over my yard. Love how different parts of this country are soooo different.

That's a good point. He's always writing about lizards and snakes, but has never written much about insects. Eek! They frighten me more than anything.
