My post this month is short. Why? I'm celebrating.
In July, my husband and I celebrated our eighth wedding anniversary. I met my husband in November of 1999—just before the over-hyped Y2K crisis date—while hiking with the Appalachian Mountain Club along the NJ-NY border. I literally tripped over him when he bent to pick up a pinecone at the same time as I pulled my sweatshirt over my head. I fell head over heels in love.
In August, I celebrate a birthday. I'm not going to tell you exactly how old I will be, only that I was born at the tail end of the baby boom. And in September, my husband celebrates his birthday. For one month, he's a year younger than I am. Cradle robber, that's me.
Three month's of celebration. Ain't life grand?
A quick update for anyone who read my post last month, Waiting—So Hard to Do. We couldn't negotiate a deal on the house we wanted, so the hunt is back on.
Hope you're having a wonderful summer and celebrating life.
What are you celebrating this month?

That's too cute, Dawn! I LOVE how you met!!! :)
Good luck on your house hunt!
This month--finished final line edits on DREAMING OF THE WOLF, approval of The SEAL in Wolf's Clothing, final line edits on A GHOST OF A CHANCE AT LOVE, and hope to finish THE WINGED ELF this month! All fun work!
Hi, Terry. Thanks for dropping in. The way my husband and I met was definitely different. Good luck completing all your fun work. I did get some work done too. I finished Sea Panther. Just waiting to get the last chapter back from my crit group and I'll be ready to start querying. Yay!
Hi Dawn, happy anniversary and double happy birthday for you and your wonderful hubby.
This month my whole family celebrates the birth of triplets, my cousin's babies, born four days ago. They are healthy and going home today. We call them the miracle babies.
Oh, Mona, congrats to your cousin. How wonderful!
Hi Dawn,
I'm trying again to leave a comment, so hopefully I won't post twice.
Congrats on your wedding anniversary. DH and I recently celebrated our 36th wedding anniversary.
And, continued best wishes on your house search.
Thanks! Josie.
Late chiming in, Dawn, but Happy Birthday! I am celebrating the birth of my newest niece two days ago, and my daughter's second wedding anniversary is later this month. Keep in mind, there's a house out there with your name on it - preferably one with trees that drop pine cones.
