One Flaw In Women

I thought of all the wonderful writers in the FTH group and how appropriate this verse fits. I do not know who the author is.

One Flaw In Women
Women have strengths that amaze men

They bear hardships and they carry burdens,
but they hold happiness, love and joy.
They smile when they want to scream.
They sing when they want to cry.
They cry when they are happy and laugh when they are nervous.
They fight for what they believe in.
They stand up to injustice.
They don't take "no" for an answer
when they believe there is a better solution.
They go without so their family can have.
They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.
They love unconditionally.
They cry when their children excel
and cheer when their friends get awards.
They are happy when they hear about a birth or a wedding.
Their hearts break when a friend dies.
They grieve at the loss of a family member,
yet they are strong when they think there is no strength left.
They know that a hug and a kiss can heal a broken heart.
Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors.
They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you to show how much they care about you.
The heart of a woman is what makes the world keep turning.

HOWEVER, IF THERE IS ONE FLAW IN WOMEN,
IT IS THAT THEY FORGET THEIR WORTH.

You're right - this is such a beautiful poem and SO accurate. Woman do have to be strong and the love they carry helps carry them along.

Thanks for a lovely poem, Jaclyn. My husband once had a commanding officer whose wife told me (in front of our husbands) that he may be the C.O. Afloat but she's the C.O. Ashore. He just smiled. I loved that woman. She faced challenges her husband could never have guessed at. Years later in his career, my husband brought me a Navy mug with a CO Ashore symbol on it. On the one hand I was very touched. On the other I was glad he understood it!

DONNA,

Thank you. love the story about your husband and his C.O.
His wife had courage. especially in front of the others.

My Dad said something similar to my mother. He was in the C.G. She told him, in her house, she was the boss. He kissed her and laughed. "You're right, Rosie."

Loved the idea that DH brought you a Navy mug with a CO Ashore symbol on it. He sounds like my kind of guy.
