Joanne--Sharing another humorous Dave Barry post

Hi Everyone,
It's the 8th of the month, which means it is time for a Dave Barry chuckle. Today, Dave talks about his diet regimen. Enjoy!

"It is important to have a sensible, long-term eating regimen and realistic dietary goals. I myself was on a sensible long-term eating regimen until nearly 10:30 this morning, when I finally achieved my dietary goal of locating where my wife put the box of Cheez-Its. These are my favorite snack crackers because they contain "riboflavin" and have a radioactive orange color that makes thm easy to locate in the dark. Plus they are good for your heart: Like every other product now sold in the United States, including Drano, they come in a package marked "Low Cholesterol." Heart care is a top priority with me, so I ate the whole box. (serves twenty).

Me again: Sounds like my food intake lately. I have some work to do before fitting into my summer bathing suit!

How is your diet and exercise regimen going? Please leave a comment.

Cute post, Joanne, but what is dieting? I erased that word from my dictionary. I discovered it's not good for my heart, because it causes me so much stress. I eat anything I want all the time. No stress, but too many pounds on the hips, the lower back, the belly, the...

I had a sausage roll for lunch and then went for a walk. :) It's all about balance!

I love him. I am a little behind in my 'diet' goals.

No way am I ready for swimsuit season. But I'm staying steady, so that's kind of good, right?

Diet?

This is something I surely and sorely need. I have started riding Calvin's stationery bike everyday. Well, I have.....I started this very afternoon, in fact.

Cute post. Gotta love Dave Berry.

Barbara,
A sausage roll sounds perfect. I thought that was a NY recipe. Where do they serve sausage rolls in Atlanta?

Beth,
I'm a little behind in my diet goals, also. But, I'm spurred on to begin counting Weight watcher points again. I can't believe how many "points" I eat in one day.

Jill,
I find I'm either up or down on the scale. (mostly up) It's difficult to stay the course.

Thanks, Vonnie. Enjoy that bike ride! :)

I am trying to not eat sweets during Lent, and it seems to be driving everyone else crazy. My daughter is going for a bakery job and insists I have to try everything she bakes and give her my honest opinion. I guess you could say the not eating sweets is not going well

Josie...love Dave Barry's hyperbole and understand why he's mad about the fact that food is so tempting but the older we get the less we can eat. Dang it!

I suggest one meal a day. It can start when you wake up and stop when you go to sleep. Have you tried the new Crackerfuls Big Stuff. Extra low cholesterol cheese...Mmmmm.

Josie, I make my own sausage rolls with puff pastry and turkey sausages. Yum!!!

Cute post. Dave sounds like my kind of man! About that box of Cheese-Its, it is entirely understandable. Havently started the diet this year, but my scale is hinting that I should have.

Morgan,
I gave up chocolate candy for Lent. It's going well, but I miss my Hershey's chocolate bars and candy kisses.

Rolynn,
Yes, it seems like it takes a lot of effort to lose a pound or two. I'm on the treadmill 4-5 days a week for an hour. If I miss, I immediately begin to gain weight. Ugh!

Mary R.,
LOL! Yes, I've tried the new Crackerfuls and love them. Do they have many fat grams and calories? :)

Barbara,
Really? You make your own sausage rolls? Well, at least you use turkey sausage.

Scarlet,
They say a person should weight themselves once a week, but I admit to weighing myself almost daily.
